A business analyst for over 12 years, Ieuan has worked internationally in several industries. He has been a key member on a wide range of project sizes, whether quickly creating a small solution or implementing a multi-year critical system replacement for a multi-billion dollar company.
Like many of his colleagues, Ieuan enjoys working with people and this is what initially drew him to business analysis. Bringing people together and helping them “get” what each other’s needs are provide Ieuan’s golden moments at work. A highly curious individual, Ieuan likes to understand why and how things work and has apparently been asking “but why” since the tender of age of three. It is much to his parents’ bemusement that he now gets paid to ask that same question on a daily basis!
As a volunteer with Land Search and Rescue (SAR) in Auckland, Ieuan is constantly in situations that provide real life reality checks away from the office. When someone gets lost in the bush, Ieuan is one of the team that will be out looking for them. And the first aid skills he has developed along the way have seen him record some rather memorable office injury reports. With headings such as “subject was hit by an out of control Segway” you can understand why this is one of his favourite accident reports! (and the unfortunate person who was hit? – just a couple of grazes….)
